    Default Left & Center Columns Background Color

    Could someone tell me how to have the entire left column be one color while the center column with all the information is another? I can't figure out where exactly in the css to change it. Here (http://accessory-avenue.com/hbhcatalog/) is a look at my page and here (http://(sorry, site offline)/138/ind...ate_dir=wallet) is a good example of what I'm talking about. On mine, the column color behind the side boxes is the solid green, which I want. But I would like the main content of my page to have a white background, like in the Wallet template. This one (http://(sorry, site offline)/138/ind...r=mother_earth) is another great example, though I realize on this one the background is probably an image and not just a color specification. But the look is exactly what I'm going for- the left column a different color than than the main content background.

    Thanks in advance!

    You need to be careful where you throw #FFFFFF into a stylesheet. Right now, you have successfully turned the bottom of your main text to white but also eliminate the visibility of the text in the reviews sidebox

    Get a copy of firefox with the firebug add-on and use it to "play" with your css settings until you get them like you'd like.

    The time spent learning to navigate with firebug will be more than well spent.

    Ok I got that part fixed with:

    #contentMainWrapper
    {background-color: #FFFFFF;
    }

    And I made sure the side column stayed the green color by using:

    #navColumnOne, #navColumnTwo {
    background-color: #B1B6A2;
    }

    But what I'd like to know now is how to get the main column to continue up with the white, so that the "Home :: All Products" navigation is also in white, without spilling over to the left column?

    Sorry for the double post. I hadn't refreshed the page to see your reply before I replied. Anyway, I did realize that the text would be temporarily gone. It was white before, and while I was changing the bg to white, I realized the text would have to be changed if what I did worked. So I did. Thank you though! I will have to check out the firefox thing you were talking about. If you haven't already by the time I post this (I see you're still here!) please see my previous post, before this one. I'm still stuck on one part.

    Thanks again!

    Not sure you'll be happy with the result but, you can turn off the #B1B6A2 color call in your navBreadCrumbWrapper

    Actually, it doesn't look too bad. But there's still a sliver of green above it. Any ideas? I'd like the white to meet up with the dark green in the logo.

    I'm curious as to why you've done the header as you have.

    You have a different image in the stylesheet than you actually load for the site and you've created at taglineWrapp that is used to add more to the header image. Even with trying to bump the navBreadCrumb up to close the gap the extra images and wrappers are butting heads and creating the small gaps seen left and right at the bottoms of the header corners.

    Aren't folks south of Nowata supposed to be in bed by now anyway?

    Lol, everyone south of Nowata gets Nosleepa! J/K. You must be familiar with the area.

    I'm totally confused now as to what you're talking about. The main logo image is the logo.gif and tha background image is called sage_stripes.gif. Which image in the stylesheet are you talking about? I also did a search for the taglineWrapp and have no clue what you're referring to! All I know is that I wanted an image tagline instead of text, so I put that image there. I really didn't alter that much of this css. I don't know where the original came from, but I've just been trying to customize it to my needs. I don't know quite enough about Zen Cart to try to write stuff myself!

    So how can I fix all this?! Lol.

    you have several things fighting with each other.

    Your call for
    #navMainWrapper, #navSuppWrapper, #navCatTabsWrapper {
    background-color:#8A8D81;
    background-image:url(../images/tile_back.gif);
    color:#FFFFFF;
    font-weight:bold;
    height:1%;
    margin:0em;
    padding:0.5em 0.2em;
    }
    does not affect the site if the items in red are removed from the CSS and the removing the line in purple takes some of the blank space out at the top of the page.

    The logo.gif is a width of 745 while the site is 750. A logoWrapper has been added to the stylesheet to apparently add more to the logo.gif using the slogan.jpg It is also 745 versus 750 but one is aligned left and the other centered. Hence the funny little corners under "Your main avenue for all.."

    Ok I took out all that extra stuff and it made it look a little different. The most obvious difference is the light green that is now above the logo and seems to split the words Home and Log In. ??

    I think I noticed what you were talking about earlier, calling the image that wasn't there. If you "View Source" you will see where the id"logo" calls for the image logo.gif while in the css the logoWrapper calls for the header_bg.jpg. When rendered all together it looks like a mess. Is that what you were talking about? Should I make the logo and slogan both 750 (would it actually help?) I will go in and align both to center, assuming center is what it's supposed to be. (what actual page do I align those on?) On my computer, I don't see the funny little corners under "Your main avenue..." I'm working with IE- not sure if that's the difference we're seeing.

    I'm beginning to think it would just be easier to find a clean css page and start fresh from there with my alterations. I THOUGHT I originally copied the default css (probably the Classic folder) and just altered IT, but who knows (I'm picking back up the building process after almost a year.) At this point I'm close to having it be what I'd like it to be, but I also HATE having a mess to deal with later, and extra coding that serves no purpose. So I don't know. My brain is fried at this hour though!
