    Default Database Structure/Backup

I've e-mailed my host but perhaps someone here knows...

I have two databases listed in phpMyAdmin:
    myname_data and myname_hp_zencart.

I've looked at both, the first (_data) has 43 tables (some of the zen tables) and the other (_hp_zencart) has 93 tables.

I'm on an Apache server running Red Hat Linux.

I'm just trying to determine if I need to backup the smaller database or just the larger one.

    Thx.

Search for the following line in your includes/configuration.php file to determine which database you are using:

    define('DB_DATABASE','DATABASENAME')

Although I'd guess it's the 93 table database.

Zen Cart up to v1.3.7 has 93 tables in its db (v1.3.8 has 95). Whatever the smaller db is, it can't be useful for your current ZC site.

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and backed up both but if I ever need to restore, I'll use the larger one.

BTW, Can I do a partial restore? I'm getting ready to modify my shipping module(s) -- can I just restore certain tables/files if I have a breakdown?

Also, do you know if the restore function in phpMyAdmin unzips a gzip SQL file?

    Thanks again.

If you know how, you can do just about anything with your database tables/fields. I wouldn't advise trying anything without some expert advice, though, as you can mess up badly in an instant.
