Multiple Delivery/Shipping Costs

Im trying to figure out how to have multiple shippings prices on my 1.3.8, as an example. £2.95 for small items, £8.95 for medium size items and £45 for the Largest items.

I thought about using the per unit weight, and just setting the weight of the item to the delivery cost, this work fine till I realised that if the customer purchased more than one item he/she will be charged more than once of the shipping, ideally i would like the highest shipping price to be the only one visible in the shopping cart, so if the customer order one small item and one large the delivery would be £45, or if they ordered Two large it would be £45, or two small items would be £2.95. etc etc.

In my last zencart site 1.3.5 I had everything set to a flat rate of £10 but this often put customers off from buying the small items as the shipping is just too much. Any ideas of what I could do or what options are available. Thanks Ben

Got this sorted now, using table rates.
