    Default Every day, more questions....

So a couple more questions. I'm using the Lavender template and can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the word "home" in the main page area with my customer greeting. I also haven't figured out how to add my logo at the top. I went into includes>templates>lavender>images and replaced the logo file with my logo, but for some reason that made the top where it used to say "lavender template" now show a "powered by zen cart" banner. In the admin area, I went to configuration>layout settings and blanked out all the banners, then went to tools>banner manager and turned off all the banners, so I know it's not another banner group showing up. It's probably something really dumb that I'm overlooking, but any help would be appreciated. TIA!

Your reference to the "Home" link in the "main page" I believe is the breadcrumb trail. You can switch breadcrumbs on or off in the admin panel. In 1.3.8 you can switch it off for just the home page, or all pages, or keep it on for all pages. (The switch is somewhere in admin...configuration - just look for "breadcrumbs").

When you start working with different templates, finding the right directory into which to place stuff (images) can be confusing.

What I do is display the page in question, then, if the wrong image is showing, I right-click my mouse on the image and select "properties". This shows the PATH to that image.

I write down that path, and replace the image with one of my own, with the same name.

(For some reason, your link to your site isn't working on my browser, so I can't see your site to show the path.)

Thanks! That changed it, but now I'm seeing the little box with a red x instead of my image. Frustrating, since when I was using a different template the image was coming up just fine.

Helen... you know what might help you... Use Firefox browser and bolt onto it some useful add-ons, such as Chris Pederick's Developer Toolkit, Colorzilla and Firebug.

These tools will help you dissect your web page, css and a whole lot more.

When you view your webpages in Firefox, and enable some of these add-on tools, you quickly find information you need to fix many common problem areas.
