Default xampp -- where do I find my httpd.conf?

Ok i finally decided to install a local test version - I have the E-Book....read everything clearly and downloaded and installed XAMPP - That is working fine.

The instructions say to edit this file xampp-home>/apache/conf /ht tpd.conf

Ok i search for it...can't find it in the apache folder.

    Where is it ?

I downloaded XAMPP for windows 32 and its exactly the version mentioned in the E-Book.

The only thing in the folder mentioned in the E-Book is ssl related files.

    Anyone help ?

Default Re: xampp -- where do I find my httpd.conf?

The <xampp-home> directory refers the the directory where you installed your XAMPP software. For example, C:\xampp.

If that is the case, then the httpd.conf file should be C:\xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf.

If you only see a file with the name httpd, then you will need to enable the display of file extensions to see the full file name as httpd.conf.

To enabled the display of filename extensions on Win XP, click Tools > Folder Options in your Windows Explorer. After the dialog box appears, choose the View tab, and then uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" radio button before pressing Ok.
