    Default Firefox vs IE6

    I made changes to the stylesheet.css and they showed up in Firefox. However, in IE6 they are not -- well the latest changes are not. I deleted the cache and the history in IE, closed the browser, and tried again. No luck. I did a view source and they are pointing to the same stylesheet. How is this possible other than a caching of IE6. If it is a caching, why didn't deleting cookies and temporary files clear the cache?

    Here is something even more strange. I went to another machine that had never looked at this page. It also didn't show the latest changes in IE7, but did in FF. I did a view source on both and they are both pointing to the same stylesheet:

    href="includes/templates/classic/css/stylesheet.css"

    The URL is http://peglegsurf.com/store/index.ph...=index&cPath=6

    Bill Gates decreed some time ago that MSIE would not follow CSS convention. What you see in Firefox is how it should be. MSIE "workarounds" are possible, but often complicated.

    News in Aether is that uncle Bill may make the next version of MSIE more CSS compliant!

    I know its fun to bash Bill, but this is basic stuff. All it is is setting background color, color and borders in classes and tag ids. I have done this often on other sites and it worked for both. Yes, there are some little nasties every now and then, but for the most part it worked -- especially this basic stuff.

    Solved. It was Pilot error. I am a PHP programmer who does some Javascript as well. I haven't often had to deal with CSS, so I mistakenly used // for a comment.

    Well you're not alone...

    I do that all the time - and also have panic attacks
