Number of supported products?

Is there a maximum number of products Zen Cart can support? I've heard from someone that if the number of products exceeds 10,000 then it can crash?

I don't think there's a specific maximum amount. How well the site operates will largely depend on the specs of the server in question. I'm sure most sites with over 10,000 products, Zen Cart or not, would struggle a bit.

We have a Cart with 100,000+ products and sub-second parse times so the 10,000 product item you heard abut is not because of Zen Cart if factual in the first place.

That's great to know. I was actually developing an ecommerce site for somebody using oscommerce, and a developer came along and tried to say that she needed 'bespoke software' written in to deal with over 10,000 products, and that she should use their own ecommerce software (at a high price of course!).

Big companies simply hate great open source software!
