Greetings and salutations. I must have a ghost in my machine or something.

Ok, had everything all clicking and kewl. Had a single test product, and my boxes all setup, and a couple of my banners were doing their thing.

I wanted to start putting in product, so I deleted the test one, and deleted the test category. Now, I think THIS is where I messed up, please correct me if I am missing here. I THINK, when I went to the site in my tab; which still had the product, clicked on the category; which is now gone, it freaked it out. 'Cause when I put in a test product, test category again, the index.php is the DEFAULT!!!!!

and Meta Tags are default again, and my boxes were gone.

I opened up admin, and they were turned on, so I turned them off then refreshed and on again, poof they are back. Also, there were a few options that went back to default also. uuummmm, oh yea, the Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF was turned back on, and the Define Main Page Status was turned back on; I had no main page just the store front, and some others I will run across later I am sure.

My question is simple. If the index.php and other files were corrupted, how could they go back to defaults? I mean, I am down with a jacked up file, but normally when they are corrupt, they don't rebuild themselves into a "as new" status. ROFL!!

I even tried restoring from a backup, however nothing changed.

Strange? Yup, that's why I posted it. I'd love a tip/trick to keep this from happening. I know.
