Make Clickable link in Text Newletter

I have a HTML and Test version of my newsletter. In the Text version I have some links that I still need to be clickable. When I preview it from admin they show as clickable, but when I veiw the text Newsletters after they are sent, they arent.

What is the proper format to get the links to work in the text version of the Newsletter or is this not possible?

This is how it's done now:

<a target="_blank" href="http://pinetreecandles.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!F7770AC79266B09E!268.entry">Pine Tree Candles News</a>

In this example only the "Pine Tree Candles News" comes through and is not clickable.

I think you might struggle to use html in a text-only email.

I would put something like this..

http://pinetreecandles.spaces.live.c...B09E!268.entry

If it's a good email program, it should display it as a link. It should also open the link in a new window.

I had something similar to that, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't another way to do it.
