hide prices in the shopping cart?

Hi, is there any way to hide the product prices when they are first added to the shopping cart, the sub-total too, until they start the checkout process?

Where are the prices you want to hide? In the shopping cart sidebox or on the product itself?

Most importantly, why would I want to checkout if I had no idea what something cost?

Good observation... I don't know of any shops that want you to buy something - but keep the price secret.

I have 100 and some products that cost the same unless you buy certain quantities, i have the quantity mod installed but the discount doesn't show up until you start checking out, so instead of confusing people and giving them the wrong sub-total i wanted to "not" show up any prices at all until they start checking out where the discount will be taken into part.
Does this make any sense?
I also wanted to hide the line where it asks for birth date? Anybody , any ideas?

As to the birthday, start with Customer Details in the Configuration menu of the admin. be sure to read the directions.

If you are using Quantity Discounts feature in a standard zencart, the new price is displayed in the shopping cart - calculated automatically when a quantity threshold number is entered.

What will really confuse your customers - and probably drive them out of your shop - is not knowing what something costs until they are well into the checkout process.

I would not bother with a webshop that did not tell me the price up-front. I believe most webshoppers would feel the same.
