Switching to Zen Cart

I currently am running an OSC store in a directory named "store" I have a ZC store that I have converted in a directory named "store_1." I would like to do away with the OSC store and have the ZC store start to use the "store" directory. Is it as simple as renaming my databases and links and config files?

Are you sure that's it? The table structure is different... and that's just the products table. There are almost twice as many tables in ZC when compared to OSC and ZC has more fields in each table. If it's that easy to convert, I am grateful because I'm doing the same thing. OSC to ZC and hope it's a smooth transition.

you need to rename the OSC store folder to something else,

rename whatever directory you have ZC in to store

open the 2 config files and make the quick changes,

voila all done

zodc, the comments are about moving the already created Zen Cart site to a different folder. That really is simple. Converting from osC to ZC is a much more complex process. You will have to build the store template from scratch to look like your old one - osC templates are in no way useable on ZC. There are procedures for transferring an osC database to ZC. You need to export the db, massage the tables and then import into your new ZC db. Search for more info in the forum.
