Existing catalog IDs

Hello,

I have a customer who has an existing print catalog where every attribute of every product changes the catalog ID number for that product. That wouldn't be so bad except the catalog numbers are not consistent, so I have to manually specify the catalog ID for every attribute for every product. It would be similar to pricing by attribute, but in addition to the price I would need to set the catalog ID as well.

The two requirements for the catalog ID are that 1) it shows up in the email to the back end and 2) it's searchable.

Can this be done with ZenCart? If not, what package can?

Install Zen Cart and add the module by kurio for "Stock-by-Attributes" and see if this will support what you need

Unfortunately Stock by Attributes is not what I'm looking for. Maybe I didn't explain it clearly enough, but I need to set individual product IDs for every single product and attribute combination, not keep separate stock levels.

Any other ideas?

No, Zencart can't assign model numbers to attributes. I think that feature is scheduled for v. 1.4.

There is a mod which claims to do this, but it looks a little shaky. Might be some ideas in there for you to get started with.
