    Default FEDEX Procedure

This question may sound a little off beat but does anyone know what happens when you plug in your FEDEX account number in the FEDEX Ground module? I am wondering of that when a customer orders a product and chooses Fedex, does FEDEX automatically bill your account for shipping or do you make the charge manually through FEDEX?

As far as I know, you have to deal with FedEx (or UPS or USPS) manually. All Zencart does is collect the shipping costs from the customer.

You will get charged for the shipping once you ship out the package from your store. It actually might be once it's delivered, not just shippe out. You will get an invoice if you have your account set up that way or your credit card will be charged if you have it set up to automatically charge your card.

i have installed and enabled the fedex module however i don't see it in my shopping cart during checkout. Is it supposed to be there only when the store is live?
    Thanks,

Make sure you have your MeterID entered in the Express and Ground module. If you have a FedEx ship manager installed on your computer, you should have received the MeterId. If you don't have the MeterID, the Ground should have populated automatically, and you can enter your account number under the MeterID for the Express section. I am not sure if the pricing will be correct as I am testing my own, but at least it will show up as an option for a customer to choose.

kits as long as you have your tare weights set correctly then it works just fine,

fedex shows the clients the published rates ( this will be higher than what you will see if you go to fedex.com since those are your list rates )

this module ONLY shows what the fee will be and has actually nothing to do with printing labels or charging your account
