    Default User entered product price

I am doing some work for a non profit that would like to accept donations. I can not for the life of me find any existing info on creating a donate button (not pay pal) with in my zen cart. Does anyone know of a way I can tie an attribute to a product in a way that will allow a user to decided how much the want to donate?

.. or any other solutions that would bring me to the same end.

    thanks

    Cam

Currently, the only way a product price can be applied is through the ZC admin panel.

You may be able to set up something similar to "virtual" products, where things like shipping won't apply, etc.

People often prefer some guidance to the amount they can "donate", so you may find it possible to have several "virtual products", all labelled as different donation options:

    Product 1... $1.00
    Product 2... $5.00
    Product 3... $10.00
    Product 4... $20.00
    Product 5... $50.00
    Product 6... $100.00

Also, you can take advantage of the QUANTITY box (add 4 products costing $1)...

Or even use attributes to achieve this.

    Hey,
Thanks for that quick reply. I am with you on the set donation prices and agree that it maybe the best option. I sure would love to know how to do it the other way though... its almost personal at this point.

    Thanks again,
    Cam

... hire a custom coder to rebuild zencart - probably for a large fee!
