Default Confused by EZ Pages and Define Pages

I need to add a couple of custom pages and have links to them appear in the header, footer and sideboxes.

I understand going to Tools -> EZ Pages and creating the page there. I mean I created an About Us page by inserting the html I wanted in the box provided. However after inserting it, there is no link anywhere on the site to that page. Not in the header, footer or sidebox. I can't figure out how to get the link to the page to show up.

Also, in my sidebar I have a box labeled "Store Information" and below that are 3 links to "Page 2", "Page 3", "Page 4". I'm assuming these are the define_page_2, define_page_3 and define_page_4 but I can't figure out how to change the link name.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For an "about us" page, you can try http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=182.

Do you have EZ-Pages turned on in admin->tools->layout boxes controller?

It's possible that you forgot to specify the sort order for the page. A common problem.

Thanks for the quick replies. I appreciate it.

Well, part of the problem got solved. It turns out that the ez pages was turned off in the layout boxes section even though I could have sworn I turned them on before. This did allow the about us page I created to show up in the sidebox but it didn't even touch the header or footer. I'm wondering if I need to manually edit the template I'm using to get it in them. I'll have to check that out.

As for the sort order I'm a little confused as to what value to put in them. I mean I put a value of greater than zero so that the page would show up but in the case of my header and footer navigation I have no idea what the other links are set up as for a sort order so I wasn't sure what to do there. Is that basically just a "guess with a number and if it's not right try again" kind of thing?

The sort order for your already existing pages should be shown in the list when you first go to the EZ-Pages admin section. You would normally take a look at them first and *then* choose the appropriate order, depending on where you want the page displayed.

As long as you put a value of greater than 0, then the page should display, even if two of the pages have the same order.
