Can I Display Specials only for current category?

Is there a way to display the specials for the current category only?

So that when you are in a current category, it will only show the specials pertaining to that category and not an outside category?

for example, if you had the category of vinyl records, it would only show the specials you have running on vinyl records, and not the specials for DVD's....

That is the standard behavior, at least for the centerboxes.
If you click on the "specials" link in the categories sidebox, you will not be in a particular category and will get all of the specials.

Well, it's not the standard for the specials in my store....

and scroll down, you will see the monthly specials, and you will see that the monthly specials are not limited to that one category....

(I have a category set up for each and every designer, and they don't want specials for the "other" designers to show up on their listings...)

They are all under the Designers top category, and that is the limit in this case. To get the limit to be restricted to a subcategory would take some MySQL coding changes. It would probably be quite simple for one who knows how to do it.

Older versions of Zen Cart did not manage the categories_id in the URL and you would get the first category in the products_to_categories table ...

The new method actually builds from the categories path to get this to the right category ...

What version are you running of Zen Cart?
