Coding changes not updating on website?

I am changing words and some other information in my coding but nothing is updating on my website. I am trying to change some product listing headers/titles and they change in the php file and that it. Has any one experienced this or no of a way to resolve this?

Be sure that you are editing the correct files and that they are in fact being uploaded(check time stamp).

I remember a few months ago, I was editing a site...and uploading correct files...and it's not changing! Losing my mind, staring at the right directory, right file. Threaten my computer with a shotgun.

Turned out I was working on a backup folder of the site.
