Customer Rewards Mod

I have a customer who want's a shopping cart that can allow them to provide customer points based on purchases and give discounts for future purchases based on their reward points. Can Zen do this somehow or is there a mod that actually works and doesn't cause conflicts that can do this?

Well I use the module from xmodule, but its a commercial module, so supports are only given on their website. Its called xrewards.

Thanks, I just visited his site but the Xrewards mod you mention isn't listed anywhere that I can see. I sent him an email but it appears it may be discontinued for some reason.

Not sure why we would see different things. I went to: http://www.webextremecustomiser.com/ and I see a total of 4 Zen cart mods. Two free and two premium. They are:

1. Checkout progress basic
2 & 3. Ajax image swapper (basic and premium)
4. Ajax Banner swapper

But I don't see anything related to a mod called Xmodule.

Do you have a direct URL to that product page?

Er... ok first of all, webextremecustomiser is my website. I bought the module from somebody else. its in "xmodules.com". I have sent you an email regarding this...

Hey Jaycode,

I got your email and the mod looks like it's just what the doctor ordered! Thanks! Actually I've found this forum very helpfull and you all very responsive this time around and I really appreciate it. Zen can be a bit intimidating for new customers, heck it is for me and I've installed a few.

Still have to figure out how to update easily after adding so many custom mods but other than that I'm very impressed with this cart compared to just about anything else I've seen in 15 years of developing web sites for various types of businesses.

Hey, no probie mate ;)

One tips on finding/installing a mod though:
1. If that mod replaces the core files, BE CAREFUL! you might want to use the override system when installing the mod. The good mod developers are always trying their best not to overwrite the core files.

2. To use the override system for example, instead of overwriting includes/modules/checkout_process.php you might want to create a template folder on it and copy the file: includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/checkout_process.php

3. That is to prevent overwriting when upgrading.

4. If you have overlapping mods (2 or more mods accessing the same file) you might want to merge the two files together instead of removing one of them.

Hi MH, I hope this message reached you. I have installed their module, turns out they still have problems with them:

1. BUGS. At the checkout page, you can get unlimited points by refreshing the page.
2. It destroys your core files.

We have just had a new version of XRewards 1.1.3.8 produced for us with the following new features:

New Features in XRewards 1.1

Include/exclude individual payment methods from being allowed to earn points on an order.

Include/exclude values redeemed by Gift Certificates, Vouchers and Loyalty Reward Points in final order total used to reward points on an order.

Individual category and product reward points override. Categories and products can have different earned reward points set that will override the global setting. Product points overrides take precedence over category points overrides.

Reward points redeemed, earned and balance displayed on order confirmation emails.

Ability to award points on an order that were not earned at the time the order was placed due to payment method being disabled from earning points.

Ability to award points on orders that were placed prior to the module being installed.
