A way to have a subcategory description pop-up?

I am wondering if anyone knows if a module exists or there is a simple way to do this:

When at a parent category page I would like when you mouse over a sub category icon that a box pops up (CSS?) with a brief description of that subcategory.

Any ideas or thoughts?

could be something with AJAX, i havnt seen anything around like it but i am sure you can get some one to make it for you.
