    Tz,
The problem is that you are charging tax on the shipping..
    Take a look in:

    admin panel/ modules/ shipping/ usps
    1. make sure tax class = None

Shipping is not taxable in texas? Even if i take out the shipping tax, there are still 0.01 different. But i think that is not significant. The strange things is why if i tax the shipping as well, the different suddenly become so huge. Please advice. Thanks.

I found this on Texas Sales Tax Page, so seem like the shipping is taxable. Any advice how to fix the problem?

    8. >Are delivery or shipping charges taxable?
Shipping and handling charges are taxable if the charges are associated with the sale of taxable goods or service.
For example, you sell a sofa to a customer for $500. You agree to deliver the sofa and charge separate fee of $50 for delivery. Because your sale of the sofa is taxable, your $50 delivery charge is also taxable. You should collect sales tax on $550.
In contrast, if you sold a similar sofa for $500 to another customer who issues you a properly completed resale or exemption certificate, then your sale and the delivery charge are exempt. If you deliver the sofa for a fee of $50, the delivery charge is not taxable. You do not collect sales tax on the $550.
Note: "Delivery," "shipping," or "postage" on an invoice represents delivery charges. Please refer to Rule 3.303. Please note that separately stated charges for postage are not taxable when billed by the seller to a client if the cost of the postage was incurred by the seller at the request of the client to distribute tangible personal property to third party recipients designated by the seller's client.

The problem lies within the Discount Coupon.. I believe.. Don't go to the bank on that..

Try a search on sales tax with discount coupon configuration???

Ok. I found some solution from the forum as setting the discount coupon as below:

    Discount Coupon

    This module is installed
    true

    Sort Order
    280

    Include Shipping
    false

    Include Tax
    false

    Re-calculate Tax
    Credit Note

    Tax Class
    Taxable Goods

Now, the tax calc is correct, but it introduce another problem, the total value is not correct. This is what i got

    Sub-Total: $34.99
    Discount Coupon: -$7.00
United States Postal Service (Priority Mail (2 - 3 days)): $5.05
Texas State Sales Tax 8.25%: $2.73
    Total: $36.35 <- it should be $35.77

Please help, i just realize this after i put my site up. PLEASE HELP!

I don't know the solution, but shipping in Texas is taxable unless you are charging the exact amount you are being charged ... the last time I checked sales tax law.

Also, Zen-Cart has never rounded-up the tax penny, so about 1/2 the invoices charge 1 cent less. We haven't lost any sleep over it, but it's a nuisance when it doesn't match the general ledger.
    Thanks,
    Ray
