Search Results Sorting

Hi,
I have noticed that search results from quick find are sorted alphabetically. This is very inconvenient and customers cant sort the results, not even through advanced search. Is it possible to sort the results by relevance by default? I really need a good search engine since i have about 50000 products.

Given that the quick search is simply a text match, there's no way to add a relevance context to it.

The good news is that I don't think you really need to do anything; any user who gets 50k results is going to narrow their search terms a bit without any prompting.

Is there any other search engine for Zen Cart which is better, eg, can google site search be implemented. Problems i get for example are, if i search harddrive i get Acer pcs first then western digital at the bottom.

Well you can have Google do a direct search of your site, where the results only come from your site. That requires you to be indexed properly, but as long as you've got that covered, I would recommend setting up Google Custom Search:
