Can Search search in Category names and description?

Hi

Due to the nature of my products and options I have had to setup the products as Categories and then add in some of the Options as the actual Products, then I have changed the product lising to make a product look like the category, and have the options in a list looking like products. This works well.

But I have just discovered the Search facility does not search Categories. So it does not show anything when you enter a product name for example.

Does anyone know how to make Search search in Category names and descriptions?

I have the same problem - I need the SEARCH tool to search in category names and their descriptions.

Can it be done in Zen 1.3.8 ?

I decided to abandon the setup I had because of this. I recreated the categories as products, figured out a way to setup attributes the way they should be, and redesigned the template too. Another major reason I did it was because the orders places did not show the Category name (which is the "product" name) and only the specific product information which was not enough info. I missed this problem when I setup my products as categories.

So it took a long time for me to rework it but I think it was the only way without having search in categories and category showing in Orders.

I'm looking to a solution to that too. I searched in the forum without any other results than other people looking for the same thing. If someone have a clue please explain.
