How to offer PDF documents for free download ?

Hi,

Using zc 1.3.8a, I want to offer some PDF documents for free download. How can this be simply achieved, other than by just sticking the url in the document general description ?

You can click on the "product is free" button when setting up the product and then add the downloadable file as an attribute, covered in this FAQ.

Thanks. It works however I find that a very cumbersome way of making documents available for download. And I get an error message on the step 2 page of the checkout process saying that products aren't available in my region whereas the region is properly configured, ie everything works for "normal" products. Is there another way ?

Me again. Even if I make the products "virtual" and with or without free shipping, I still get the annoying error message on the step 2 page of the checkout product saying "sorry, we can't accept payments in your region etc...". If I make the documents downloadable at a price, say €1, the message disappears. How do I get rid of it ?
