Have a Drink Few More Quick Questions Please

I've been reading and reading the wonderful information here and the FAQ pages which have helped me so much with getting my cart setup. This information is invaluable IMO.

But...this numpty has some more questions and I'm thinking this will be the end of them...thank heavens!

Here's the link to my store for reference: http://itzthepitz.com/store/

    And now...questions:

    1. In the Address Details fields on the login page where new customers enter their billing information, the only choices for the salutation is Mr. and Ms. I'd like to add two additional radio buttons, one for Mrs. and the other one being Dr. How do I go about doing this?

    2. I LOVE the layout of the Featured Items on the home page of my store and absolutely detest the Products List when clicking a specific link of products, i.e. Neck Wraps, where I have five item currently listed. It looks messy and cluttered. ICK!!! Is there any way for the Neck Wraps page to have the same layout as the home page? I would naturally implement this on all pages and do away completely with the items list as they currently are displayed.

    3. Where do I change the color on the Welcome text on the home page and all the gray text in the same region on all the other pages? I'd like to go with a red or orange color and am unable to figure out where I do this.

    As always...my eternal gratitude.

    Kindest regards,
    -Kathy

    1. There's no way to do that just now. It's coming in a later release of Zen Cart.
    3. Colors are controlled in the stylesheet. Unfortunately, it's late here and I'm not really firing on all cylinders, so I can't be more specific.

I noticed you are still using the classic template....

We need to step back, just a little..

    1. Using the override system means you don't have to worry about over-writing your custom files when an upgrade

comes along, because they are all in custom directories you will create below.
    2. Click on the link below, notice the tutorial/faqs on the top right hand side
    3. http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/
    4. Notice the blue header bar, click Index
    5. Scroll down to override system, click
    6. click on the override system really simplified, https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=143
    7. you will need to use a ftp program and create these folders
    8. now read this article
    9. https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=142
    10. after you finish that little step, read the article below
    11. https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=230
    12. So, now when you want to edit a .php file, first upload the file to your custom folder and then edit the puppy..

Thank so much YET AGAIN Haredo my Zen Hero. I will get a custom folder(s) setup today and following your instructions. I'd hate to put all this work into the project only to have things go wonky with an upgrade.

Hey Afo...I know the feeling all too well of not firing on all cylinders. I can stick with the Mr. and Ms. for the time being.

One other thing...I went to my original product images and changed the size to an uniform size (800 x600px) and it made the product list look much nicer. I think I can live with that the way it is. I can't believe that I kinda like it. :)

    Again...thanks again.

    Great I,
Just another helpful technique, since you started building in the classic template, because when you create your custom template & layout boxes controller, you will go crazy when you view the screen.

Take time and follow the instructions below:
    1. Use your ftp program to transfer the following files:
    2. includes/ templates/ classic/ css/ stylesheet.css
    3. copy and paste this file to:
    4. includes/ templates/ your_custom_template/ css
    5. includes/ templates/ classic/ images
    6. copy and paste all image files, .jpg and gifs to:
    7. includes/ templates/ your_custom_template/ images
    8. includes/ languages/ classic
    9. copy and paste all files here to:
    10. includes/ languages/ your_custom_template
    11. If you have none here no worries
    12. includes/ languages/ english/ html_includes/ classic
    13. copy and paste all .php files to:
    14. includes/ languages/ english/ html_includes/ your_custom_template
    15. I hope I have not missed one
    16. Since I noticed you have already made a few changes:
    17. Copy any core file that you have changed now over to the custom template name you have created.....
Basically what we have accomplished is transferring all the classic files over to your new custom folder.
    1. Yes, now you have Zen by the ba..s!!!!!

Thanks again Haredo...got everything copied over and even have the original files from the initial installation stashed away as I had begun tweaking and saving them before realizing and learning the importance of copying files into CUSTOM folders. I think I'm good. Just received my approval from the Authorize.net reseller, FINALLY got my USPS shipping stuff totally fixed through shear tenaciousness. Just have a couple of little screwy things to take care of an I'm on my way.

    Again...huge thanks and hugs! :)

You are most welcome, glad I could assist you..

What is the link to the site..

You did change over to a custom template, because when I click on your first post link. I still can see when I view source the classic is being used..
