Default Product Listing Attributes don't seem to do anything

I'm new to this, so admittedly I may be misunderstanding something, but I am setting the admin > configuration > Product Listing attributes to:

    Show Product Image 0
    Show Product Name 0
    Show Price/Add To Cart 0

...etc., just to see if I can get some result, and none of this seems to do anything! In the store, when I click on "All Products" and get a list of them, shouldn't these attributes do something? But I still have an image thumbnail, I still have a Product Name, I still have the Price/Add to Cart (when I click on the product to open it)...what am I missing? I do have a template installed I purchased, is it somehow overriding this stuff?

There is a difference between product listing and product page.
In order to see product listing you half to have attributes associated with your product, which you view this criteria in the product page..

This only eliminated the product image in the product listing page? You must have not attributes associated with your product to view this correctly..

Thanks for replying, but I don't understand your answer.

If I look at admin > configuration > attributes, I don't see anything here that relates to what I'm talking about. Attributes are mainly about downloading the product, or pricing by the letter etc.

    But here's another example.

I edit admin > config > All Listing: Display Product Image = 0

If I use Template = Classic Contemporary Green, then my product images are gone on the All Products page (as expected). If I use the Template I purchased, this setting does not make the images go away. I wonder what I need to do with the purchased template to allow some of these things to have an effect.

Now, the issue is a little clearer..

Is there a thread on the forum that discusses the template you purchased???
