    Default Hiding Prices

    Hi All,

    Im looking at starting up a site for a friend that owes a warehouse. He already has an online shop but is getting grief with one of his customers because the customer of his customer saw how much she was getting the stock for hence realized it was a trade price. The reason I told you all this is cause im looking to set up a shop that all the products can be viewed but prices hidden, that is until you can create an account log in and then all the prices are visible.

    Is this possible with Zen Cart, any help would be most appreciated. This may have been something that has already been addressed but I did search and could not find anything.

    Look forward to hearing from you..

    Justin

    Yes... this is possible - and very easy to configure. There are several options and settings related to this question and all are very easy to set up (less than 5 seconds to change from one setting to another!)

    Can you give some directions to where the settings are (i.e. in admin..)?

    Found the option that I'll use (setting '2' below...)

    Admin->Configuration->Customer Details->Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices

    Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices
    Customer must be approved to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must login to browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless logged in
    3= Showroom Only

    ... and you may then also want to set the Customer Approval Status (just under the one you've set already) to setting number "2"

    Hey Chaps,

    Im trying to do the same thing. Basically until i can sort all of my prices i just want to use showroom only. Problem is in this mode it still shows the price. Is there any other way of hiding it?

    Also tried the customer needs to log in and be authorised to view prices but then it states "price unavaliable". Is there any way you can just display a blank whether the customer logs in or not?

    You can edit /includes/languages/english.php on line 513 (don't forget to leave the ' at either end), and then put the edited copy in your override folder.
