Salemaker won't work at all

For some reason salemaker won't work at all on my site. I can create specials and they will display, but although on the admin side, I can create a sale, set new price, start and ed date etc.., the sale itself won't show on my site.
I am using the latest version of ZenCart, and have tried different templates (even the Classic) and it still won't show.
Any ideas what I have done wrong (or broken) ?!

I've fixed it. It was a category id problem. I read the info in this posting and sorted it:

There are no date fields to change in SaleMaker. I can enter a sale name, percentage, products price range, select an option if product is on special, and check off which product categories can go on sale, but there is no option for setting the start date and end date. The words start date and end date are there, but there is no field next to them to change them. Any ideas?
