help question Install Issue - Can't access Admin

    Storefront is at odysseyshop.net/store

I have been trying to reinstall ZC with no luck.

I am installing on Apache server/Linux:
    Apache version 1.3.39 (Unix)
    PHP version 4.4.7
    MySQL version 4.1.22-standard
    Architecture i686
    Operating system Linux

I originally installed through Fantastico with no problems It worked fine.

I then added SSL protection -- still worked fine.

I tried customizing and screwed up the styles and couldn't figure out what all I had changed, so I thought I'd just remove and reinstall (I was using Easy

Populate so I have all my data still available in spreadsheet form).

Uninstalled -- appeared to work fine.

Installed using Fantastico -reports it installed successfully and I can go to the store front, but not Admin. Admin appears to check the login information and then blanks out and shows "Done" at bottom of page. No error message is produced. I have flushed the cache, rebooted, tried reinstalling, tried enabling and disabling the SSL in the config files. Looked for 0 byte files in Admin, all to no avail.

Ideas: Seems like SSL might be causing problem -- ZC installs OK on another website I have on the same server, but that website does not have SSL...is there anything particular I must do before installing if SSL already in place. Also, my SSL uses certificate and intermediate cert (GoDaddy), is that an issue?.

I also find this very odd -- the installation e-mail does not show up at the admin e-mail address, NOR does it show up at the address I give Fantastico to copy installation particulars. AND, if I try to RESEND, it looks like it works, but no e-mail shows up.

My host IT worked on this for some time, and they have been unable to find a problem on their end. They believe it is a "Zencart" issue. They have also come to believe it has something to do with SLL.

    Thanks in advance for help.

I also now note that I cannot register as a customer...does that lead us anywhere?

If you turn off SSL, does it work again?

    BINGO!

I cycled SSL off (FALSE) and then back on (TRUE) in configure.php in both includes directories - /includes and /admin/includes

While I was doing that...I also noticed the address for both the http and https addresses in those files was the storename.net, WITHOUT the www...I added WWW before each of those as well in both config files and I am now able to get into ZC Admin and able to register customers...

    Thanks a billion!

    Zencart version 1.3.7 Changing Hosts

I am having the same issues in transferring hosts. By changing the config files ssl to false, on the newsite everything functions perfectly. But the my account or check out is no longer https.

Changing the config files back to true, I get the error code 404 again. Is there another way to set this through the admin section or is there another file I need to alter. I tried adding the www and get the 404 error regardless of settings)

    Thx

This means that your SSL is either not correctly specified in your configure.php files and/or your new server isn't configured to do SSL.
