Default Once Images Are Uploaded The Quality Is Terrible

When i'm creating the images and adverts for my site in Paint, basic i know, they look great but once i upload them to my site when you look at them on the net the quality is shocking and seems to blur the edges.

    Why is this?

First I want to sat good layout. second I want to say paint!!! wow can I try and convince you to upgrade (for free) to a better graphics program like gimp or inkscape.
Also I want to tell you about a thing called the png.
The png is an image format that for the web is beyond a jpg or gif for grapics purposes hands down (I still use jpgs for pictures).
A better program will help w/ you image quality, and a better format will display them better.
more info about the png can be found at http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/

Well here is what I do.
the type setting in gimp just plain sucks, its is not designed for that.
So If I need nicely type logos I use ink scape to do my type setting. then I save in a gimp format (supported by inkscape) then do the rest of my graphic manipulation in gimp and save in png.

you can get gimp at gimp.org
    and inkscape at inkscape.org

its has a learning curve to be sure, all software does. but its quite powerful once you get past it.
