css problem hide_dropdowns is not defined

I appear to have successfully installed v1.3.8a, but when I go to mysite.com/zcart/ or mysite.com/zcart/admin/ neither page is formatted and there are multiple errors in Error Console - all saying "hide_dropdowns is not defined". The error occurs on Firefox and IE7.

I guess I've missed something in the install, but can't see what.

Thanks for your reply, although I don't think it will help me as my host is unlikely to make that change.

One query, you said "If you have access to your server's errorlog data, you can confirm that this is the problem by viewing the logs. They will most likely tell you "Limit option not allowed here"."

Well the error I'm getting in the Error Log is "htaccess: order not allowed here" so are we definitely talking about the same problem?

Yes. If you remove all lines that start with "order" in your .htaccess files, it's possible that the files may work.

Well I've tried on a different host and have succeeded in doing an install and main site and admin are both displaying correctly now. However, I got messages about cURL not being compiled into php at start of installation. I've looked on my host's forum and there is no way they are going to allow cURL. Will ZC still work on this site? I intend to use Paypal as payment site and I already use Paypal from this host with no problem on other software packages. So has ZC been written in such a way that CURL is mandatory or will it work successfully without it? Is there a way round this problem if mandatory?

That's odd. CURL is far more secure than fsockopen, and more and more hosts are moving *to* using CURL, rather than blocking it.

Anyway, you can use PayPal Website Payments Standard if your host doesn't support CURL, but you won't be able to use any other PayPal features.

Are you sure you've selected the right host? Why did you choose *them* vs any others? There are several recommended hosts on the "hosting" page ... see link at top of the screen.

Thanks for the reply - sounds positive.

As for the host, been using them for years and hosted a 1.2.7 version of ZC on there - although was getting the problem of no reply from Paypal to my cart, which is well documented on this forum. Hoping the upgrade to 1.3.x will sort that problem.
