Minimum Quantity for Category?

Is it possible to set a minimum quantity for a category (not just a product)?

For example, say I have a category for "widgets." Under "widgets" there is product A and product B. I want a rule that forces customers to order at least two widgets. They can order two of product A OR two of product B OR one each of product A and B.

I can set up the first two scenarios, but I'm having difficulty finding a setting/module for the third. It seems like it would be common enough that someone would already have a solution.... I hope?

I have not seen anything like this and as it crosses products it would not be common...

Can you be more specific? widgets is not very descriptive or a link to the site and the products you are referring to would help

It is actually not that common, you may need custom code (code your own module) to achieve that.

I sell 10 different varieties of cookies and the minimum order is 1 case of 10. But i want them to be able to choose 1 of each if they want.

You may want to get together with others who want this ability and hire a coder to make it for you. Things like this have been requested occasionally for a long time, and nobody has stepped forward yet with a solution.

ya i posted in the commercial help wanted, it's $60 bucks and they write it specifically for you. It's worth it i think.
