New Product Type in New Side box

I have tried to read the really long thread at the top of this section, but I'm still clueless.

I have used the documents sidebox and categories sidebox and need a third sidebox.

Here's my site www.kamaainadeals.com

It is going to be a directory of local discounts, called "kamaaina deals" and coupons in Hawaii.

I used the Documents sidebox to "Browse Deals by Island" and the Categories sidebox to "Browse Deals by Category".

I need another sidebox for "Local Coupons", and I need the categories, subcatergories, and items to be completely different from the "Deals by Island" and"Deals by Category".


How do I do this?

Use Blank Sidebox mod from above url.. then
use html in sidebox to link to your specific requirements.

Thanks so much Misty, but I would not get any subcategories, or even categories per say, doing it that way. It will just be links to custom pages.

I still want to be able to have subcatergories as the the local coupons will be subcatergoized by island and then also by category, like say "grocery stores".

If I just use html, everytime I add a new coupon I will have to change the html for whatever the side box, and everypage leading up to the actual coupon...

I basically just want to duplicate the product type "products_general" like used in the Categories box and then have it in a new sidebox called "Local Coupons"

Or If I can somehow create a new "Category Sidebox", and choose which categories I want in the new box and which ones in the old that would work great too.

Only way can see this happening is if you duplicate categories sidebox, and then use Hide Categories mod to only show categories required, in this newly created
sidebox mod.
You may need zencart coder to create this for you...
