Super order vs Edit order?

Not mutch info on Super order and edit order mods.
I was hoping people which have used those give breefing on their features and differences.

Here is info I found so far.
Edit ordersa llow you to update the order total.
There is an extra box and you just put a minus - infront of the amount paid..it takes it off the total.

he exact question I was going to ask! I've read and re-read what Super Orders does, and I'm not sure it actually edits orders! Plus, it won't work with PHP5 (which is pretty much mandatory) and a lot of those posts are patch upon patch upon patch.
However, the author is now back and promises an update, but it looks like being AFTER the summer. (Northern hemisphere summer!)

As for edit order, I've had some php5 issues with that too, so I'm going to work on some of the suggested solutions and will post back with any findings

Super Orders allows you to change the price for shipping but that is about all I can figure out, you can't change the method (not that I know of!)

Yes, Super Orders + Edit Orders does work. They are indispensible for me. I had to revert back to an older edit order because the newer Edit Orders 1.1 did not work for me. And I'm sticking with that until Blindside releases a new Super Orders that will allow more editing control.

For many things, I can use these to edit orders. On occasion, I still go edit the mysql dbase.

I have not tried SUPER ORDERS but I successfully installed EDIT ORDERS and it seems to give me the complete flexibility to edit ALL order details including additional discounts (just add a description/comment in the box and then put a minus sign in front of the dollar amount)

The ONLY drawback I have found to the Edit Orders module is that it seems to have de-activated the ADMIN NOTES module that I had previously installed. I haven't found anything in the forums yet to help with that issue.

All things considered, I decided that the ability to Edit orders was ultimately more important than the Admin notes, but if anyone has experience with BOTH and is able to use BOTH EDIT ORDERS and ADMIN NOTES concurrently I would appreciate a post telling me how you did it

Silly me... the ADMIN NOTES section can be viewed if you click on the little green 'e' next to the order where it is listed in the orders list You can view/edit/add the Admin notes. They do not show up when you are Editing the Order but that's not a big deal at all.

So BOTH mods can work VERY WELL together!

Edit Orders - NOT RECOMMENDED if you use 1.3.7. You have to be very careful when editing your orders, otherwise you'll lose the order!

In addition, no uninstallation information is provided with edit orders. If you undo the order.php changes, you get a big error.

AVOID.

If you use 1.3.7, you don't get the benefit of all of srturner47's fixes (not to mention all the Zen Cart fixes in 1.3.8). But you should always be able to back out simply by restoring admin/orders.php - this has not changed.

I used the edit orders mod, but like many, I found some bugs, so I ended up working on it. As far as I can tell, the latest version I released, 1.51, fixes all bugs, so it should work nicely. Dunno why Admin Notes doesn't work, as I don't use this mod, sorry.

I also considered super orders, but I choose edit orders for a couple of reasons:

1) I only needed to edit orders, and it seemed super orders does a lot more.

2) From what I've read, super orders does not allow you to edit every part of an order. The edit order mod does -- including add and deleting products.

marksu, I installed Super Orders on a PHP5 server and it runs fine. There aren't any PHP5 compatibility issues, at least not with the current version.

It looks like the ability to adjust and edit orders with Super Orders is very limited. I may switch to Edit Orders.

I initially went with Super Orders primarily because of the bug reports about Edit Orders.

I have heard that these two contributions do not play well together. Has anyone installed both? Are there any compatibility issues?
