Default LinkPoint "Communication Result: 28" - Resolving host timed out

    I would appreciate any help.

First of all, I would like to note:
    1. I do not use GoDaddy

    2. I contacted my dedicated host provider, APlus, they do not require a proxy to talk to external sites via cURL.

    3. I have verified cURL is working via curltest.php

    4. And port 1129 is open for bi-directional communication

Interestingly enough, a few months ago, everthing was wokring, now... nothing.

When I go to "curltest.php?linkpoint=1", this is the error I get:
28 Resolving host timed out: secure.linkpt.net

    Array
    (
    [url] => "https://secure.linkpt.net:1129/LSGSXML"

Here is the log file I recieve after attempting a purchase:

I have search and read all the posts here and even several for OSCommerce... to no prevail.

You need to talk to your host about resolving names ... perhaps their nameserver or DNS handling isn't working properly since the error messages you're getting are indicating that the server is unable to look up the address of the linkpoint server.

Dr. Byte- Thank you very much for your quick response.

I discovered I was unable to even connect to www.linkpoint.com via a browser from the hosted server.

I contacted Aplus, my host provider, and they said it is a DNS issue with LinkPoint... not them.

I will call LinkPoint to see if they are experiencing any issues; however, I assume since the issue has been going on for a few weeks now, that it isn't LinkPoint.

So unfortunately, I am in one of those tit-for-tat conversation between the two.

Any other information that might help me distinguish where exactly the problem lies would be very helpful.

    Thanks again.

    They're blowing smoke.
If the hosted server cannot look it up and access the site, but you can reach it fine from another computer, then there's something busted with the DNS services on the server or on the server's connection to the internet.

    Thank you Dr. Byte!

You were right... after countless conversations with my hosting provider (Aplus.net) telling me it has was LinkPoint DNS problem, finally they were able to admit the problem (after a bit of yelling) and pin it on "something was routing incorrectly).

Once again Dr. Byte... you solved the world's problems.
