Not displaying product until available date

Hi everyone

When listing a product we set an available from date, so if it is future date, products still starts showing up as an upcoming product, which is great but i don't want to show that. Can some one please assist? I want it to appear on the available from date please.

If there is a nifty way from admin please let me know, otherwise can some one please point me to the right file, i can change the code myself to achieve that but having trouble finding the right file.

Coding is not a problem, it will be pretty simple just would require one check, but i just can't find the right file, do you know which file should i look into?

includes/ modules/ upcoming_products.php

make sure to copy to your_template_name and then play..

unfortunately that probably is not the right file as it does not show it only as upcoming on that product category, new in month, etc. so i wanted to find the main location which deals with product listing.

Im not sure if this works for your problem, but try this:
Go to admin->configuration->Index Listing and try the "Show Upcoming Products" settings.

If someone can point me to the place where the code checking is done for the status of the product active or inactive, that will be the solution. It will be a function in some file, definitely not a class function as checked already.

The method you are suggesting will only stop it displaying on main page, my aim is not to show the product at all until it has reached its available date, like i said it is not hard to do just a matter of find the piece of code where status checking is done, because that is where it handles it globally, if status is set to OFF globally it won't show, i hope i am making sense :)

More or less you need something similar to what happens when a Product is Sold Out but backwards ...

If you used the same technique and made a Coming Soon image spit out instead of the add to cart or buy now button ... then the product cannot be purchased ...

We will be looking into adding something like this in a future release ...
