help question Url question (probably very easy)

This is probably a very easy question, but I just can't seem to figure it out. My domain name is www.ad-mineraal.nl but my zen cart is located at http://www.ad-mineraal.nl/zen/index.php How can I make sure when people type my domain name they end up in the store and not on an error page?

    Thank you in advance,

    Juliet van Ree

You need to move your Zencart files to the root of your site, and edit the 2 configure.php files to change the paths.

    Are you using cpanel?

If so, it is very easy to setup a redirect from your main domain to your zencart folder, so anyone typing in:

    http://www.ad-mineraal.nl/

    gets automatically redirected to:

    http://www.ad-mineraal.nl/zen/index.php

It should be in Cpanel > Redirects.

That will be much easier than moving your entire site.

It's better to move the site. Bots and spiders don't generally like redirects. Moving the site is simple and better in the long run.

Having zen in root is ok as long as you dont already have a website their with and index.php file. many users have their main website at root level and store in sub directory. Then just add links on your website to your store- simply!

Any webmaster panel should allow you to do what was suggested, but if you don't have an active website already or want to replace it, the root is the best place for Zen Cart. If your Zen Cart store is running as part of an existing site, nicko2's suggestion is right.
