Making product descriptions more interesting

Hi,

Ive had a look through google search and through the zencart forums and i cant see any info so i thought i would post a new thread.

Is it possible to make product descriptions look better? currently everything goes into one long line but i would like to use bold, italic and line feeds at certain places to make it look nicer. Also can i use bullet points/tables/lists?

I know you can assign certain attributes but if i want to make a bullet list describing the pro's of a product, that wouldnt suit using attributes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes you can make the product description look better by including html code. So all those formatting you mentioned are possible.

... have you enabled an Editor here, like "HTMLArea" ?

If you enable the editor, you will be able to apply basic HTML formatting to all descriptive text, including DEFINE PAGES, EZ PAGES, and PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS.

HTMLArea has a "TOGGLE FUNCTION" indicated by " <> " in the edit console, so you can see the underlying HTML tags that define a text block.

You can - if you wish - use a professional (external) HTML editor to create your formatted text, then copy the base HTML code into HTMLArea (after toggling to display source code).

Fundamentally, you can format your text descriptions to be 72point Arial in Bright Purple, if you felt like it. You can also embed images, and many other valid html functions.
