What \images folder(s) do I use

This may sound like a silly question but I don't mean for it to be that. I may be a bit dense but can someone clarify the purpose/use of the various \images folders? Folders such as those under \spiffyCal, \htmlarea, etc. are intuitive but I'm not clear on what images should go in these other folders.

..\admin\images

..\includes\languages\english\images

..\includes\templates\template_default\images

You do not need to worry about some of these as the correct images are part of the distribution and for some others the product entry uploads the base image to the correct location but for your use:

..\images = product images then /images/medium and /images/large these are self-explanatory

..\admin\images = the images you see when in the admin backend

..\includes\languages\english\images = only the flag image

..\includes\templates\template_default\images = your template images like logo, backgrounds and tiles
