category/subcategory product listing

I have following category/menu structure:

- Design
- Gifts
--- Textile
--- Office
--- Other
- Extra

Is it possible to view all products in gifts category (from all subcategories) when you click it?

I would also like to know if someone has made a mod to support this.

I suppose one could mod the category/subcategory display code/template somehow?
