adding gif. to main template body

Hi after installing zen cart i have found it much easyer than oscomerce,the problem i have at the moment and i would like to invite anybody to give me some advice, is this under the header and header bar we have this {Home
Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?

Main Page Sample Text ... } in between -Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in- and- Main Page Sample Text ... i need to place a 412x125 gif which i have created,does any one have any info how ican do this .THANKS, TOPTOP.

HI no i am sticking with the green template its as good as i need, but have desighned and installed the header which was easy enough and have resseller content and graffix for the boxes. this is the banner i want to install. and this is really the only thing holding me back everything else should be straight forward,i do realise the banner needs to be resized to fit in the middle section of the template but this again is not a problem, thanx- TopTop

"Banner" is the operative word here.

What you can do is enable the banner for this location (position 3??) and display your welcome as a banner.

Configuration > Layout Settings > Banner Display Groups - Header Position 3
and
Tools > Banner Manager.
