    Default Disable Eway CVN - CC info goes from payment page

    We are changing our payment page to give more whitespace as part of streamlining and tidying up the whole cart/checkout process and reducing pages.

    We wanted to remove the CVN box from the payment page.
    The CVN data serves no security purpose with beagle and only alerts our customers to possible security issues using credit carts online.

    So...
    We changed the CVN enabled feature of the eway module on our zen cart to false.

    We found the whole credit card info entry section on the payment page disappears. Only the other options remain, money order cheque and paypal.

    Any idea what other settings may be causing this, or other issues we may need to resolve to prevent this?

    hi, this is expected behaviour, the payment module will not show unless it is set up correctly, it should have a green status indicator in zen admin.

    turning beagle on but cvn off is an incorrect module setup because for some reason eway specified (at least when i revived the module) that using beagle requires sending the data to the same gateway that cvn payments go to, so you must use cvn to avoid error messages back from the gateway.

    I advocate the use of cvn anyway as it verifies the customer has (access to) the physical card which significantly reduces the chance of store owners processing stolen/copied credit cards, which they are liable for under eway's terms.

    you should also advise your customers that using cvn increases security, because it is only sent to the bank to verify they have the real card, not kept on file and thus decreases the chance of misuse for everyone.
