Hello folks,
I thank you for your time. Currently we have 1 issue. I'm hoping you can review my process and suggest the best method of execution.
Our store currently sells one item and in a volume. It's a poster.
We ship the poster in a tube through usps.
- The weight of poster in tube is 1lb 2oz ($4.90)
- We charge $2.05 for Insurance
- We charge $1.55 for Handling
The purchaser can buy any quantity of posters.
We will ONLY put 5 posters in a tube. Mainly for car, and that it affects the weight so little that all the numbers stay the same.
What we need to do is make sure that we continue to repeat that for every five items. So if a customer comes to the site and buys 20 posters, they get charged 4 x $8.50 ($4.90+$2.05+$1.55) without having to add an item for each major quantity block.
MY THOUGHTS ABOUT FIXING THIS ARE:
To take 1lb 2ozs and divide that by 5. (.27lbs) then set my maximum shippable size to 1.32lbs. Would this insure that everytime 1.32lbs was exceeded, another handling charge would be added?
Thank you SO much for your time.![]()
