Show all products in sidebar?

Hi!

I've scoured the forums but can't find info on this... I'm setting up a cart with only a few products and would like them ALL to be listed on the sidebar. Right now I have the Categories box but I'd rather just list the products there, as there is only one category anyway by necessity. I'd rather people didn't have to drill down into "Products" to see the list.

What's the best way to do this, short of hard-coding it in? (I'm pretty sure how, but not sure where, I would actually do that!)

Your could try the following:-

Set up ONE category on your zenshop and put all your products into that category.

Install a "blank sidebox" (see DOWNLOADS).

Follow the README in the Blank Sidebox module folder to guide you in how to set it up, etc.

In the code, you will see the places where you add CONTENT to the sidebox.

Call up each product in your browser to see the PATH to it, then...

Hard-code the paths to each product, eg:

<a href="index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24_31&products_id=303">sherbet</a><br />
<a href="index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24_31&products_id=304">ice cream</a><br />
(etc)
Make the sidebox visible (ADMIN>>>TOOLS>>>LAYOUT BOXES).

Make the CATEGORIES sidebox invisible (switch it off - also in ADMIN>>>TOOLS>>>LAYOUT BOXES)

... bear in mind that if you ADD or REMOVE products later, then the content of your sidebox needs to be edited manually.

Sounds good! As with many ZC issues, I hadn't thought that it might require an external plug-in type of solution. This should work perfectly!
