Default Offline CC processing and $0 totals

    Hi,

We have a cart that is currently using offline CC processing. It's working great except for $0 orders. I can understand why $0 orders won't ask for credit card info but due to the nature of what our $0 orders are, we would still like to collect the credit card info.

I've tried everything I can possibly think of to get this to work with no luck. Has anyone tried something like this or have any ideas on how to get this work?

Our worst-case solution at the moment is to charge 1 cent instead of free in order to engage the offline cc module. This is obviously a lame way of addressing the problem and we would like a pure $0 solution.

It should be noted that these aren't *free* products. They're products that have an actual price and through attributes end up being $0 in the basket.

    Thanks!

If you have $0.00 totals, then you need to install the The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD freecharger Payment module so that you can complete the checkout ...

...while the Free Card does what it states, namely, allow another payment method, what we're looking for is to still collect CC info (for offline shipping calc and deposit) even if the total is $0.00.

So, as above, the solution you have provided is, if I understand Free Card correctly, not a viable solution.

Sorry, the way you described it it sounded like a $0.00 order total ...

When shipping cost is still involved there should be a payment module running ...

Do you have any add-ons that might be interferring with this?

If you still want your orders to be $0, but require collection of a credit card number, you will have to write/revise your own payment module to do that. If you are not comfortable doing that yourself, you can always hire someone for that purpose ... see the Commercial Help Wanted section of the forum for that.
