Hi,
I am creating a new category and then copying each item within one cat to the new cat and linking the products.
Does anyone know an easier way to copy entire categories?
Thanks.

Navigate to the admin listing of the category whose products you want to copy, click the blue "c" button on one pf the products, and select Multiple Categories Link Manager at the bottom of that menu.
At the bottom of the Multiple Categories Link Manager page, find this section:
Global Category Link Changes and Master Category ID Reset
Copy ALL Products in a Category as LINKED Products to another Category ...
Example: Using 8 and 22 would Link ALL Products in Category 8 to Category 22
Select All Products in Category: Link to Category:
Hmmm... I missed something.
I selected Multiple Categories Link Manager at the bottom of the copy menu.
I found this section: Global Category Link Changes and Master Category ID Reset
I enter the numbers to Copy ALL Products in a Category as LINKED Products to another Category ...
I clicked copy products as linked.
Zen Cart reported that it did that. But those items are not in the new category...
What did I forget?
Thanks.
The new category cannot be empty, you have to have at least one product in it. When I'm doing this as soon as I add the category I create a product in that category called aaafill and save it and then come back and delete it after linking the products to the category.

Never say never, it's only a matter of time, energy and asking the right person the right question!
Sweet! That is MUCH easier. As always thanks gjh42 and ted.
Is there a method for duplicated products?
I know that sounds silly, but I really do have an application for it, and I have to do it at least once a day.
Thanks,
Tina
You can copy products from one category to another or duplicate them in the same category using the icons to the right of the product listing in the admin. Click on the dark blue disk that has a white C in it and follow the prompts. The duplicated product can then be edited.
Thank you for your answer. That is the method I am currently using. I was hopeful that I might be able to duplicate an entire category in one fail swoop.
Thanks,
Tina
