Upgrade question regarding images folder

Hi

On the upgrade instructions (https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=108) there is no mention of images. So what is the best thing to do for the images folder? Just copy the entire old images folder to the upgraded site? I have done this and am asking because would there be redundant images from the old site, or new images from the new one?

No need to re upload the Zen Cart default images if you've already done once.

Hi. I should have been more specific... product images is the main thing. There are various folders like large and medium, and you can create your own folders for product images. So these folders will obviously have to be copied else you wont have any product images. So I am surprised there was no mention of it in upgrade instructions.

So the easiest way is to copy the whole images directory over, in case you do have product images in many different locations, but then there may be lots of redundant images from the old Zencart not used.

How are you doing the upgrade? If you're testing the upgrade in a separate folder, yes, you'll have to copy your images.

Yes upgrade is in a seperate folder, then you upgrade the DB. I jsut thought the upgrade instruction should say something about images.

If you are upgrading in a separate folder, then you MUST duplicate the database as well. Otherwise, you will be upgrading the live database.

It should be understood that if you are duplicating the site in a separate folder, ALL existing folders and files would need to be included.
