Remove "TagLine Here" HELP

Hi all!
First post of many I think.
I cant find how to remove the "TagLine Here" from the top of the page. I tried having a play with the meta_tags.php file but lost the site all together (white page).
I also dont understand why the sideboxes on the right are odd widths, I would like them the same as the left.
If somebody could tell me the EASIEST way to achieve these (probably really simple) tasks, I would be grateful.

Thanks, sorted that now.
I am just chipping away at the list of things I want to do to the site before we add stock and go live.
At the moment I am tring to get rid of the following lines
New Products ...
All Products ...
in the categories sidebox.
any ideas??
