    Default Coupon Restriction Not Working

    First these are my zen settings

    Zen Cart 1.3.5
    Database Patch Level: 1.3.5

    v1.2.4 [2005-02-14 04:27:42] (Fresh Installation)
    I am creating a coupon that is 40% off on a group of specific products. This is my coupon setting

    Coupon Name: 40% Off Coupon
    Coupon Description: 40% Off on select kits
    Coupon Amount: 40%
    Coupon Minimum Order: 0.0000
    Free Shipping: No Free Shipping
    Coupon Code: JR1Blog40off
    Uses per Coupon:
    Uses per Customer: 1
    Start Date: 09/14/2006
    End Date: 09/18/2006
    I have two items listed on the PRODUCT RESTRICTIONS area both with ALLOW on. I do not have any category restrictions turned on.

    When I use the coupon in the store it applies the 40% off to ANY product in the store not just the two I have placed the allow restriction for. If I put only one product in the cart that is NOT one of the two that I marked allowed, the coupon is STILL applying 40% off. However, if I deny a product then the coupon doesn't work on that particular product. It's just the allow that does not seem to be working correctly.

    You used to be able to allow only certain products and the coupon would be applied to just those items. I'm sure that's the way this is supposed to work.

    Also, I recently upgraded to verison 1.3.5. I did a full-set upgrade.

    Not sure why this is no longer working.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Set a Deny All on the Top Category ...

    Then set the Allow on the 2 Products ...

    That should work fine now ...

    NOTE: the logic was changed a bit to ensure proper allow/deny of multiple combinations without conflicts ...

    This newer method will make setting Discount Coupons restrictions faster and easier to do ...

    Yes.. that worked. And yes, I don't recall having to set the top category to deny all before but it makes perfect sense that the logic was changed. Thank you!

    Bringing this thread back... have a related problem.

    If I add more than two deny restrictions on a coupon, the coupon won't work.

    Coupon Name :: SD-DST200
    Coupon Amount :: $2.00
    Start Date :: 09/25/2006
    End Date :: 10/31/2006
    Uses per Coupon :: Unlimited
    Uses per Customer :: 1
    Valid Product List :: Restrictions Apply
    Valid Categories List :: Restrictions Apply
    Date Created :: 09/25/2006
    Date Modified :: 09/25/2006

    I have tried

    Category Restrictions - NONE
    Product Restrictions - Deny for two different products

    and I also tried

    Category Restrictions - Apply All
    Product Restrictions - Deny for two different products

    Neither worked. However, if I only put ONE product in the product restrictions, the coupon works. And the product in the cart is not the restricted product... hadn't gotten that far in testing the coupon. Couldn't get it to work with a legit product.

    Also with the one product restriction got results that seem wrong considering...

    WORKED
    Category Restrictions - NONE
    Product Restrictions - Deny for one product

    DID NOT WORK
    Category Restrictions - Apply All
    Product Restrictions - Deny for one product

    Considering you said the coupon logic was changed to default to allow all, setting the category restriction to apply all, while redundant, should work.

    Did you try the reverse ...

    Allow All on the Categories and then Deny the two Products?

    That's what I said I did

    and I also tried

    Category Restrictions - Apply All
    Product Restrictions - Deny for two different products
    That's what should be the solution but it doesn't accept the coupon if there is more than one deny product restriction on.

    I have done this both ways and both appear to work ...

    Category Allow All
    Product Deny Product 1
    Product Deny Product 2

    Or ...

    Product Deny Product 1
    Product Deny Product 2

    And all Products can be used with Discount Coupon except the 2 Products ...
