Default Payment module alternative to paypal?

    Hello,

I'm thinking of restarting my store from 0 with zencart. Pretty sure what I would like to sell. My question is: What is comparable to paypals ease, default with zencart and has protection for me? I read paypal horror stories from what seems like honest folks. I'm also going to host it on zencarts recommended hosts. That is if I reopen my store to start fresh.

PayPal isn't that bad. There are probably many users here who have never had a problem with them, but of course you don't hear from them. PayPal recently had some trouble with their servers so this is likely to explain recent horror stories. I think that was only affecting IPN. Express and Pro are more reliable. Check the PayPal site if you need to compare them. As far as alternatives go, there's Google Checkout, although this doesn't come as default with Zen Cart like PayPal does. It's easy to integrate though. Or you could always set up a merchant account. This can be more difficult to set up, as well as more costly (depending on who you partner with), but I would say it's more professional. Choosing what to do depends really on where you're located, what your budget is, and who your target audience is.
