Default Cannot install because can't view PHP pages.

Trying a fresh install on a newly set up VPS.
Ive uploaded the files and changed permissions.
Im using IP, as domain has not yet migrated.

When i try to view the site, the index.php is not viewable, only downloadable.
Same thing if I try to navigate to any other php page.
    Html pages view fine.

Any idea how I can fix this?
    Thank you

Does your host have PHP and MYSQL available?

Many providers of VPS's, and especially the low cost ones, only provide you with the Virtual partition and it is up to you to load and configure the remaining components- usually can select a distro of Linux - Apache, mysql, and php
